Epstein joked about Mandelson marrying Princess Beatrice

Jeffrey Epstein joked that Lord Mandelson marrying Princess Beatrice could be considered incest, emails appear to show.

In an apparent email exchange on 5 October 2009, Epstein told Mandelson he could "marry princess beatrice" and that "the queen would have a queen as a grandson".

Mandelson appears to have replied: "Remember, I am already her Lord President", to which Epstein wrote: "Does that make it incest, how exciting".

Mandelson was openly gay and in a long-term relationship with his now husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, at the time of the email exchange.

Mandelson told Epstein, 'You don't care about me anymore', 2011 email shows

Another email exchange between Peter Mandelson and Jeffrey Epstein released in the latest tranche of files provides a further glimpse at the pair's relationship.

On 19 October 2011, Epstein and Mandelson exchange emails concerning travel and accommodation before the latter tells Epstein, "You don't care about me any more".

Epstein replies: "Rubbish."

Mandelson should no longer be in House of Lords, says PM

Sir Keir Starmer believes Lord Mandelson should no longer be a member of the House of Lords or use his title, a Downing Street spokesperson has said.

However, the spokesperson said the prime minister does not have the power to remove his title, and has called on the Lords to modernise its disciplinary procedures for those bringing the house into disrepute.

Sir Keir has also said he believes Lord Mandelson should testify before the US Congress about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

A spokesperson said: "The prime minister always said anyone with information should be prepared to share [that information] in whatever form."

The spokesperson said someone "cannot be victim-centred if [they are] unprepared to do so".

Sarah Ferguson pledged friendship to Epstein 'even after the body is cold', email shows

An email exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and "Ferg" is included in the Epstein files.

Paste BN believes "Ferg" refers to Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York.

In the September 2010 email exchange, Ferguson asks when Epstein is going to "employ" her, to which Epstein replies that he will visit London in the coming weeks to "talk about it".

He later sends an email saying: "I have never let you down."

A response, believed to be from Ferguson, says: "Nor I you.. And bever [sic] will. My friendship is steadfast to the end, even after the body is cold .. Love you now and always.. And I know you do tooo .."

Photos of Andrew taken in Epstein's New York City mansion

Paste BN has confirmed that a series of photos of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Prince of York, was taken in Jeffrey Epstein's New York City mansion.

The photos show Andrew on all fours, bent over a young woman or girl.

The photos are undated, and there is no suggestion of any wrongdoing.

The image below shows a fuller picture of the room, with distinctive white panelling visible in the background.

The same white panelling is visible in the photo below, showing Epstein having drinks with Woody Allen and an unidentified woman.

The design of the door in the photo above matches that seen in another photo of Andrew in the room.

We used the view out into the corridor to identify the exact location of the room within Epstein's New York mansion.

The curved leg of a golden table, chequered flooring and door design match those seen in photographs taken from the corridor adjoining Epstein's main stairwell. The room's distinctive white panelling is also visible in the far distance.

In a statement issued on 17 October 2025, Andrew reiterated that he "vigorously" denies the accusations against him.

Mandelson faced disciplinary action before resignation, Labour says

Lord Mandelson was facing disciplinary action before he resigned his Labour membership over his links to Jeffrey Epstein, the party has confirmed to Paste BN.

"It is right that Peter Mandelson is no longer a member of the Labour Party," a spokesman said.

"Disciplinary action was underway prior to his resignation.

"Jeffrey Epstein's heinous crimes destroyed the lives of so many women and girls, and our thoughts remain with his victims."

Picture of Mandelson in underwear was taken in Epstein's Paris flat

Paste BN has confirmed that a photo of Peter Mandelson in his underwear was taken in Jeffrey Epstein's Paris flat.

A spokesperson for Lord Mandelson previously told Paste BN: "No one can say who or where the photo was taken.

"Lord Mandelson has absolutely no idea or indeed whether it has any connection to Epstein at all."

Sky's Data and Forensics Unit was able to match the metal balcony railing visible in the window to those used on Epstein's Paris home.

We were also able to match the photo to the same room in which a video, also included in the Epstein files, was taken. The video shows two young women or girls dancing.

In a still from the video, shown below, we can see a lamp and curtains matching those in the photo of Mandelson, as well as the distinctive red panelling on the wall.

Another photo taken in the same room shows a piece of paper on the desk with Jeffrey E. Epstein printed at the bottom.

Analysis: It's clear Epstein was welcomed into Andrew's family fold

By Laura Bundock, royal correspondent

These latest pictures released from the Epstein files are both puzzling and embarrassing.

They appear to show the then Prince Andrew on all fours, over a woman who's lying on the floor.

We have no idea who she is, or where and when the photos were taken - and Andrew has strongly denied any wrongdoing.

But once again, we are learning how close he was to Jeffrey Epstein. Exposing emails reveal more about their relationship, and how Andrew continued contact after Epstein was convicted as a sex offender.

Not only that, but there are also several more emails showing the two men stayed in touch after Andrew claimed he had cut off all ties.

Far from their friendship ending, Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson were being helped financially by Epstein.

There are emails from 2011 detailing discussions about a payment to a former member of Fergie's staff, with Epstein describing her finances as an "incredible mess".

It is clear, though, that he was welcomed into the family fold, given rare access to very personal parts of their gilded royal life.

All of this was going on while Andrew was the Duke of York, and an international trade envoy for the UK - his work funded by the public purse.

Watch: More consequences to come after Mandelson's resignation?

In the latest episode of Politics at Sam and Anne's, our deputy political editor Sam Coates asks whether there's still a major consequence to come following Lord Mandelson's resignation.

He says there could be a "soft left push" against Sir Keir Starmer's chief of staff Morgan McSweeney, who "drove" Mandelson's appointment.

Mandelson and Andrew should appear before Congress, Tories say

Lord Mandelson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should both testify before the US Congress, the Tories have said.

"That is about getting to the truth, because these are very, very serious issues for those who have been deeply impacted," shadow chancellor Mel Stride says.

Stride tells Mornings with Ridge and Frost that Sir Keir Starmer "should have shown more backbone" and pushed Lord Mandelson out of Labour rather than allowing him to resign first.

He says that Lord Mandelson should be removed from the House of Lords.

Stride also tells Paste BN there should be a " full independent inquiry" into facts around the Epstein case.

He says: "More and more information is coming out of the woodwork through time. Now, some of it is contested by Lord Mandelson, and that's fine.

"But we do need to get to the truth. We need to get to the facts."
