Camden fire latest: Roads closed and trains delayed as 70 firefighters called to tackle London blaze

London Fire Brigade has provided an update on the damage caused by the fire earlier today.

The ground floor of a four-storey commercial building on Regent's Park Road was destroyed by the blaze. 

Half of the roof of a neighbouring property was also damaged by the fire, it said.

Seven people were forced to leave another neighbouring building before the fire service arrived at the scene.

The fire has been under control since 1pm.

National Rail has been revising its timetable throughout today for ongoing rail disruption caused by the fire in Camden. 

It has now confirmed major disruption is expected across Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and London Overground services until 5:15pm.

This means that commuters are likely to be affected by the disruption as they try to head home for the weekend.

We've been getting pictures of emergency services blocking off Adelaide Road in Camden, which has the entrance to Chalk Farm underground station.

London Fire Brigade previously said the road was closed while its crews dealt with the fire on nearby Regent's Park Road.

National Rail has now confirmed that major disruption is still expected across Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and London Overground services until 4pm.

That is two hours longer than the original timescale of 2pm given earlier today.

Avanti West Coast has offered its customers alternative travel options as disruption continues from the fire.

Those with tickets dated today can use the same tickets to travel tomorrow at no extra cost, National Rail said.

Customers can also use their tickets on the following services at no extra cost: 

• Chiltern Railways between London Marylebone and Birmingham Moor Street 
• CrossCountry between Reading and Derby via Birmingham New Street, and also between Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly 
• Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Reading 
• LNER between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Birmingham New Street. 
• Northern between Manchester Piccadilly and Preston, and also between Newcastle and Carlisle 
• ScotRail between Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh 
• TransPennine Express between Manchester Piccadilly and Preston / Leeds 

If a customer's specific train is cancelled, their ticket will be valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after, National Rail said.

Despite the fire now being under control, rail services operating in the area are still subject to delays.

Major disruption is still expected across Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and London Overground services until 3:15pm, National Rail says.

It's just gone 1.30pm in London and emergency services have now confirmed that the fire in Camden is under control.

The London Fire Brigade says the blaze in Chalk Farm is now under control.

"Crews will remain on scene for the remainder of the afternoon, working hard to fully extinguish the fire," it adds.

It says that, at the height of the fire, a single storey commercial building and most of a neighbouring property were alight. Part of both buildings remain on fire, it adds.

There are currently no reports of any injuries.

London Fire Brigade said the ongoing fire broke out at a commercial property on Regent's Park Road in Camden.

The building appears to be on the former site of Primrose Hill railway station, which closed in 1992.

Chalk Farm underground station lies a stone's throw away from the site of the fire.

Police have closed the nearby Adelaide Road as emergency crews tackle the blaze.
