The firm charging Gazans to flee

A Paste BN investigation has revealed that Egyptian company Hala is charging Palestinians $5,000 per person to leave Gaza, and could be making as much as $1m a day.

Before the war, it was possible to travel with Hala for $350. But since 7 October, Hala has increased its prices 14-fold. For most people still stuck in the Strip, this option is unaffordable, but it's their only way out.
