Strikes: hundreds of thousands join massive walkout in disputes over pay
While the Chancellor was delivering his budget inside Westminster, outside, the streets were filled with tens of thousands of striking workers. Ministers have resisted demands for public sector pay rises to keep up with inflation and Jeremy Hunt showed no sign of changing course today.
