MI5 director general has said he is "profoundly sorry" he did not prevent the attack at Manchester Arena. The secret service scheduled a meeting for 31 May 2017 to assess what threat Salman Abedi posed, but this was too late. On 22 May he murdered 22 people with a homemade bomb.
