Israel-Hamas war: IDF says Israeli soldiers and tanks have gone into northern Gaza

Israel's military said it has intensified its bombing campaign against Gaza with ground forces "expanding operations" and Israeli troops "still in the field". Communication links with Gaza have been cut and it is not known how many Palestinians were killed in the assault.
