Alabama execution: Commissioner John Hamm says 'nothing was out of the ordinary' during the execution of convicted murderer Kenneth Smith

Smith was put to death this week with a new execution method using nitrogen gas after being convicted of the murder of Elizabeth Sennett in 1988. Witnesses say the execution took about 22 minutes and Smith appeared to remain conscious for several minutes.
