Footage has emerged of the moment an explosion hits firefighters tackling a burning industrial waste factory in Spain.

The CCTV images show those trying to fight the blaze arriving at the scene just moments before the blast.

People are then seen running from the building as firefighters stumble around in confusion moments after flames engulf the scene.

Thirty people were injured in the incident in the town of Arganda del Rey, about 10 miles (15km) outside Madrid, on 4 May.

The blaze, at the Requimsa factory, caused several blasts and broke windows and damaged buildings nearby.

After the explosion, firefighters continued to evacuate the factory and fight the flames.

People in nearby schools and workplaces were moved away from the scene.

The same factory was destroyed in a fire in 2013.
