UK weather: Some of the day's best images as heavy snowfall hits large parts of country

Large parts of the UK have been hit by heavy snowfall, leading to significant travel disruption.
The worst-hit areas were in the north of England, where key roads were shut due to collisions and stranded vehicles, while some rail services were cancelled.
A number of major airports closed their runways but they have since reopened. However, passengers have been warned to expect delays.

The Met Office said some rural communities could be cut off, with up to 40cm of snow on ground above 300m before conditions ease later on Sunday.
There are also yellow warnings for snow and ice on Monday until around midday for those same areas as well as much of Scotland.
And a new yellow rain warning for southern England from Cornwall across to Kent will last until 9am on Monday.
There is also a yellow warning for rain covering much of Wales and the West Midlands from 6am on Sunday to 6am on Monday.
