Police have started a murder investigation after a 49-year-old man was stabbed in Hackney, east London.

Officers and London Ambulance Service found the man after being called to Cranwood Street in the early hours of Boxing Day.

They said despite their efforts, the victim died as a result of his stabbing injuries.

Four people - two men aged 49 and 42, and two women aged 35 and 44 - have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

Enquiries are underway to inform his next of kin.
