Yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms and rain have come into force for parts of the UK.
Much of England and parts of Wales could see disruption from thunderstorms - while forecasters also warned of possible impacts from "increasingly persistent" rain in eastern Scotland.
A further yellow warning for thunderstorms has also been issued for parts of the UK on Thursday.
The Met Office said there was the possibility of damage to buildings and other structures, while the conditions could also lead to delays on the roads and trains.
Wednesday's warning, which came into force at 11am and runs until 8pm, stretches across the East of England, East and West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber, London, the South East, the South West and into southern parts of Wales.

Forecasters said there will be "scattered heavy showers, some with thunder" which are expected to ease on Wednesday evening - but there was the chance the storms could bring "hail, strong gusty winds, and lightning".
On Thursday, the thunderstorms warning area shifts further north and covers a large zone stretching from Wales to North East England.
The Met Office issued the warning for 2am until 5pm - and said heavy showers and storms could become "temporarily slow moving" and lead to surface water flooding.
"Whilst the vast majority of places will have either non-impactful rain or remain dry, a few places within this area could see 30-60mm in an hour," added the Met Office.
In eastern Scotland, a yellow warning for rain has come into force and runs until 9pm on Wednesday.
It warns of a "slight chance of power cuts" and possible disruption to roads and train services.
