The bodies of two sisters have been found lying on rocks beside New York's Hudson River.

Tala Farea, 16, was last seen on 24 August when it is thought she was with her 22-year-old sister Rotana Farea.

Both are from Fairfax, Virginia.

Police said their bodies washed up on the shore, bound together with duct tape, facing each other.

They were both fully-clothed and their bodies showed no obvious signs of trauma.

The cause of their deaths has not yet been established.

CBS2 sources said police are leaning towards the theory that the sisters may have jumped off the George Washington Bridge as part of a suicide pact.
