There might be a sprout or two fewer on Christmas tables this year after a trailer full of the divisive vegetable overturned.
Police were called to a roundabout in Admiralty Road in Rosyth in Fife at about 10.45am on Monday after a trailer which was being pulled by another vehicle overturned, shedding its load of Brussels sprouts.
Officers shared a picture online of the sprouts covering part of the road and the pavement.
South West Fife Police tweeted: "There's been a bit of a #BrusselSprouts accident at the roundabout at Admiralty Road, #Rosyth.
"Please avoid the area if possible. Traffic and #Christmas dinners may be affected. Apologies for any delays..."
There have been no reports of injuries.
