Nigel Farage has rubbished Theresa May's claim there will be a "Brexit dividend" to help fund more money for the NHS.
The former UKIP leader said he thought there "could be one" but that her current deal with Brussels meant the UK would still be paying more in.
Asked if he thought there would be a Brexit dividend, Mr Farage told Paste BN: "There could be, but not if you stay in a transition period, where effectively you go on paying £10bn a year.
"At the moment, this £20bn she's talking about now, it's not a Brexit dividend because we won't actually have left."
Mrs May has promised to "honour" the UK's commitments to the EU's budget, which finishes at the end of 2020.
She has not named a figure but the commitment is thought to be around €20bn (£17.5bn).
Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt are among the senior ministers who have defended Mrs May's pledge.
Mr Farage also said he was "bitterly disappointed" at the way the UK government was handling negotiations.
He accused it of "basically listening too much to big businesses lobbying on their own terms".
It comes after news that aerospace giant Airbus is making plans to leave the UK in the event of a "no deal Brexit".
On Friday, Downing Street insisted there had been "significant progress" in talks with Brussels.
Mrs May's spokesperson added they were "confident" the UK will get a good deal.
