Attempted murderer who escaped from 23 year prison sentence is recaptured

A man who absconded from prison while serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder has been taken back into custody, police have said.
Kieran Cameron, 43, was reported missing from HMP Thorn Cross, an open prison in Warrington, Cheshire, at 9.20pm on Tuesday.
Cameron was handed his prison sentence for an attempted murder in Dorset in 2016.

He is known to have extensive links to Manchester, Liverpool and Dorset, Cheshire Police said.
The force said on Thursday evening that Cameron had been arrested in the Hulme area of Manchester by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.
In an appeal on Wednesday, members of the public were warned not approach him and to call 999 immediately if they came into contact with him.
