A man who continued to have sex with a woman after she wanted him to stop has been jailed for rape.
Ryan Hush, 23, had been out watching football and drinking with friends when he met the woman for the first time.
Hush went back to the victim's flat in Dundee alongside her flatmate and their partner.
The pair initially had consensual sex, but after some time the woman wanted it to stop and withdrew her consent which was ignored.
Judge Lady Poole said: "The jury found you carried on and had sex with her anyway. That was rape.
"You had consumed alcohol prior to the offence which no doubt impaired your judgement, but that is no excuse.
"You sought to meet your own sexual needs without consideration for your victim.
"You raped your victim in the bedroom of her own home where she should have been safe."
Hush, a prisoner in Perth, had denied raping the woman on 2 June last year but was found guilty following a trial in November.
At the Hight Court in Edinburgh on Monday, Hush was jailed for four years.
Lady Poole said the rape had an "extensive impact" on the woman's life.
The judge said Hush, who was 21 at the time of the offence, showed "poor judgement" and said his "immaturity would have played a part in that".
New guidelines for sentencing under-25s came into effect in Scotland in January 2022.
The Scottish Sentencing Council recommended a more "individualistic approach" to take account of the perpetrator's life experiences.
The changes were made to help reduce reoffending by focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
Lady Poole noted: "Given your work history, supportive family, limited previous offending, partial insight and desire to change your behaviour in the future, there are prospects of rehabilitation."

The judge said imprisonment was the only "appropriate" sentence given the seriousness of the crime.
But she added: "However, due to mitigating factors and in particular your age, the period of imprisonment I will impose will be shorter than I would have imposed on an older person for a similar offence."
As well as the four-year jail term, Hush was also placed on the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period.
