The brother of the man accused of allegedly kidnapping British model Chloe Ayling is fighting extradition to Italy.

Michael Herba, 36, appeared at Westminster Magistrate's Court on Thursday after being arrested in Birmingham under a European arrest warrant.

He did not apply for bail and his full extradition hearing will now take place on 25 September.

His brother, 30-year-old Lukasz Herba, has already been arrested and charged with kidnapping Ms Ayling for extortion purposes in Italy.

A Polish citizen, Lukasz Herba had been living in Britain for some time according to the Italian authorities.

He is alleged to have kidnapped Ms Ayling by luring her to a fake photo shoot in Milan in July.

Ms Ayling says she was drugged and stuffed in a suitcase before being taken to a remote farmhouse near Turin where she was held captive for six days.

Italian police says her captor advertised her "sale" online and demanded a $300,000 (£231,000) ransom from her agent.
