Large fire near Wythenshawe Hospital mostly extinguished

A large fire on an industrial estate near Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester has been mostly extinguished.
The fire service said this morning it was tackling a blaze "involving heavy good vehicles" on Ennis Close and advised locals to keep windows and doors shut.
An update on X at lunchtime said the situation was largely under control.
"Thanks to the hard work of crews, the fire is now largely extinguished with just one area still requiring the attention of firefighters," said Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service
It said people evacuated from their homes were returning and that a road closure had been lifted.
