Glasgow city centre street shut by police after woman hit by car

The Scottish Ambulance Service said it dispatched an ambulance, paramedic response unit, and trauma team after the alarm was raised on Tuesday afternoon.

Police have locked down a Glasgow street after a woman was struck by a car.

Emergency crews were alerted to the incident in the city centre at around 2.40pm on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said the woman was hit on Wellington Lane. The street has been taped off.

Part of Wellington Street was also closed, but reopened later in the evening.

A force spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

A number of emergency vehicles were spotted at the scene, including police cars and fire engines.
