The general election campaign is now well into its second week. Here's what happened on Thursday.
In a sentence: Nigel Farage claimed Downing Street offered Brexit Party candidates jobs in order to not run, as the Conservatives and Labour clashed over immigration.
In a paragraph: The Conservatives flatly denied the Brexit Party leader's claim, which came after the deadline for candidate nominations passed. Immigration took centre stage on day nine, with competing claims over who is best placed to handle an issue that is likely to figure prominently throughout the campaign.
In 100 words: In a typically forthright interview with Paste BN, Mr Farage claimed Number 10 was guilty of the "most extraordinary abuse of the whole democratic process".
The Brexit Party leader also vented his frustration that the Tories had not responded in kind to his decision to stand aside candidates.
On immigration, Home Secretary Priti Patel said a Tory government would reduce it "overall", but the party has distanced itself from setting "arbitrary targets".
At the top of Labour, meanwhile, there appear to be differences in the upper echelons of the party over its policy on freedom of movement.
