The general election campaign continues apace ahead of polling day on 12 December. Here's your quick rundown of what happened on day 18.

In a sentence: Jeremy Corbyn defended his neutral Brexit stance, as the Tories sparked a row with unions over the issue of strikes.

In a paragraph: The Labour leader said his promise to not take a side in a second EU referendum was a sign of "strength and maturity", but he was criticised by the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. Meanwhile, furious union bosses accused the Tories of treating workers like "slaves" after the party announced plans to ban all-out rail strikes.

In 100 words: Mr Corbyn sought to position himself as an "honest broker" on the issue of Brexit and claimed his position was sensible.

The Tories will launch their manifesto on Sunday - and in addition to action on rail strikes, the party is promising a three-point plan to tackle adult social care.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock told Paste BN the strategy would include a £5bn injection of funding to meet short-term needs and a move to seek cross-party consensus for a long-term solution.
