Thousands of Californians have been ordered to evacuate their homes after a wildfire started this weekend.
The blaze broke out on a hill managed by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on Saturday and has since spread on the wind some 20 square miles.
Thousands of residents in the area, including parts of the city of Tracy with a population of 100,000, have been ordered to leave for evacuation centres.
Meanwhile, California Fire (CalFire) battalion chief Josh Silveira said Sunday afternoon the wildfire "burned right up the homes," destroying one house.
He added that with calmer winds and milder weather through Sunday, he did not expect the blaze - dubbed the Corral Fire - to grow.
Two firefighters suffered minor to moderate burns on Saturday and were expected to make a full recovery, Silveira said.
Cal Fire added the blaze is 30% contained. The cause is under investigation.
Lawrence Livermore spokesperson Paul Rhien said in a statement the wildfire presented no threat to any laboratory facilities or operations and had moved away from the site.
