A schoolboy who disappeared in West Lothian last week has been found "safe and well".

Police Scotland launched a search for the 15-year-old after he was last seen in the Howden area of Livingston at around 9pm on Monday 13 May.

The force issued an appeal on Monday, saying it was a "distressing time for his family" and officers were becoming "increasingly concerned" for his welfare.

In an update on Tuesday morning, a Police Scotland spokesperson said the teenager had been "traced safe and well".
