A man has been arrested after a teenager was killed in a suspected hit-and-run collision in North Yorkshire.
Bailey Chadwick, 19, was fatally injured on the B6265 near Pateley Bridge in the early hours of Sunday.
Mr Chadwick was struck by a vehicle sometime between 1.44am and 3.10am as he walked home after working at a local pub and seeing friends in the town, which is around 26 miles (42km) north of Leeds.
A man in his 20s was arrested on Thursday night on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is in police custody, North Yorkshire Police said.
Police asked people not to speculate on what happened on social media in order to avoid prejudicing any potential future court proceedings.
Speaking close to the scene of the collision on Wednesday, his mother Dayle Knights said: "No words can express how absolutely devastated we are.
"Bailey was just a normal, happy, outgoing 19-year-old, who had his whole life ahead of him."
The Royal Oak pub where Bailey worked said in a social media tribute: "The most loveable, caring, trustworthy, happy, smiley, beautiful young man we have ever had the honour of working with. A true gentlemen and friend."

North Yorkshire Police Detective Inspector Jill Cowling said Mr Chadwick had been due to go travelling to Thailand.
The teenager, she said, had "everything to look forward to in his life".
She added: "He was a well-loved, popular young man with a lifetime of adventures ahead of him. Now this is all gone".
