Biography

As Director of Platforms Nick oversees Paste BN output across digital, TV and audio.

He joined Paste BN in 2020 from the BBC, where he had a long career across radio, television and online. As an Executive News Editor he ran the BBC News website and app, leading digital coverage through the Brexit referendum, two general elections and the 2016 US presidential election.

He began his career at the BBC in 1996 in the Political Research Unit before joining the Today programme as a researcher. He went on to become David Dimbleby’s elections producer, an output editor on Newsnight and BBC News at Ten and later edited The World at One on BBC Radio 4.

He has a strong track record of innovation and created the popular hashtag #tomorrowspaperstoday, uploading the front pages of national newspapers each night — a hobby that earned him a ranking ahead of Donald Trump on The Times Magazine’s list of “The 50 People You Should Follow on Twitter” in 2013.
